Need info on training squirrel dogs.

I just found this site! Looks great!
I bought a black mouth cur in January. My grandfather hunted with them when I was young. 36 now. I plan on squirrel hunting with her. Can anyone give me any pointers on training her. I found allot of article on this but they don't really offer any advise, just talk.
She is the only hunting dog a currently own. I also have a German shepherd. I don't think she will make a good hunting dog. I plan on getting maybe a rat terrier soon.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Well with your BMC they will actually teach themselves to tree but get your self a squirrel pelt and do drags with it and also let it hang from a long cord from a tree and use the cord to pull the pelt up and down in the tree and your cur will go nuts and when it does and is trying its damnedest to get that squirrel praise your dog like it saved your life the curs just want to please there master never hit a cur it is counter productive and the dog wont trust you but if you do have to tell it off use a loud stern voice and it will know it did wrong!
