 tips on trianing my coonhounds frist time coon hunter |

Hello I have two 6 month old pups(black and tan) would like to know if dragging coon scent on the ground and up trees will help to trianing.
I have no other means of training(other good hunting dogs)to run mine with. So any insite would be very helpful.

thats what i do mostly i drag a coon scent on the ground and turn them loose and they will tree it. you should also take a coon hide(trap a coon and shoot it) and leave that coon hide with them to play with so hey will get used to the smell and will reconize the smell more.
