Post RIP trusty old pal. Reply with quote
I owe my life to the plucky actions of my faithful old Newfoundland dog " Truffles", who sadly passed away yesterday at the grand old age of 15 years.
Truffles had accompanied me on many duck hunts over the years and been a loyal and reliable friend. An uncomplaning companion who cheerfully did his duties with a gleeful spring in his canine step.
Truffles indeed saved my life many years ago when I accidently fell in a Scottish tarn whilst out shooting ducks.
With the love only a dog can give, Truffles dragged my drunken body from the freezing water and barked loudly to alert the fellow hunters to my predicament. As I gasped for air, Truffles lept back into the icy depths to retrieve my 12 bore.
We shared many adventures together, too many to relate here and now.
With a tear in my eye I salute the memory of this fine noble creature. You showed me more love, affection and loyalty than any darn women has.
Goodbye old mate !

Post So sad, I should know. Reply with quote
Oh my god I too know the sadness of losing a dog that I loved with all my heart. My fighting dog "Krul" died recently when thieves broke into my apartment and shot him dead as he guarded my valuables.
Krul for sure was a damn mighty fine dog who had won many fights and earned me big Euros. He had a heart as big as the bucket.
I miss him for sure.
