The Moose challenge !

More years ago than I care to remember, when I was an Officer in the Royal Marines, my battalion was sent to Canada to take part in an arctic survival course. It was an gruelling and energy sapping 3 week excercise. On the last evening myself and some other officers were unwinding and enjoying a well earned case of beer. We were all very merry and somebody bet me that I could not knock a moose out with a single punch. This was a challenge I could not refuse !
I have always thrived on a mindless macho dare and I was confident that I could accomplish it. We walked to a nearby farm where we knew there was a pet Moose kept in a barn. We silently forced entry to the barn and stood face to face with the ugly old moose.
Brushing aside any thought for my knuckles I punched the moose as hard as possible on its nose. The moose dropped to the floor like a crumpled sack of potatoes. I hooted with glee and was heartily cheered by my brother officers. We returned to beer drinking in elated high spirits.
The next morning I was informed by an incredulous Medical Officer that I had broken several bones in my hand. To my chagrin I was also called to see the Commanding Officer, who was non too pleased that an angry farmer was demanding compensation for my beating up of his much loved pet.
I was forced to pay $600 in vet bills for the bloody moose.
After all these years Would I do it again ? By god I would sir !
